PM GABRIEL ATTAL AWARDS SCHOLAR PROJECTS OVER ILAN HALIMI PRIZE

FIGHTING AGAINST RACISM & ANTI SEMITISM

USPA NEWS - The 34 years old French PM, Gabriel Attal, recently appointed chaired the Ilan HALIMI Prize Award Ceremony, Wednesday February 14, 2024, alongside the newly appointed Minister of National Education, Nicole Belloubet, at the Hotel de Matignon.
Ilan Halimi was a young French victim of anti-Semitic hatred, kidnaped and torture to the point of death, by the Fofana « Barbarian Gang » in 1999. It is in his memory that the Ilan Halimi Prize was created to reward young people under 25-year-olds who mobilize and commit to reducing racist and anti-Semitic prejudices and carry out awareness-raising projects aimed at other young people. It is also for the sake of lowering violence, at schools, and raising awareness over accepting the difference and fighting racism, antisemitism and any the of discrimination more generally speaking when it comes to dealing with the scholar ecosystem.
The three winners, made up of young students and college students, presented their educational projects fighting against racism, discrimination, and anti-Semitism, of which Ilan Halimi was a victim. The Minister of Education Belloubet (Former Minister of Justice) awarded the prizes to the three winners.
THE ILAN HALIMI PRIZE WAS CREATED IN 2018, BY THE INTERMINISTERIAL DELEGATION FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST RACISM ANTISEMITISM AND ANTI-LGBT HATE

The Ilan Halimi prize, created in 2018 by the Interministerial Delegation for the Fight Against Racism, Anti-Semitism and Anti-LGBT Hate (DILCRAH), rewards collective work mobilizing at least 5 young people aged under 25 who have carried out a action aimed at combating racist and anti-Semitic prejudices and stereotypes.
This prize bears the name of Ilan Halimi, a young Frenchman kidnapped, kidnapped and tortured, died of anti-Semitic hatred, died because of prejudice in 2006. He was 23 years old, he is the one who could be our brother, our cousin, our friend.
This prize aims to reward those who mobilize and who, through their creativity and inventiveness, commit to reducing prejudices.
The jury composed of personalities from the world of sport, culture, education, citizenship and commitment will carry out the qualifications.

AWARDS OF THE 6TH EDITION OF THE ILAN HALIMI PRIZE
This year, the prize list is of very high quality, over the course of several educational projects, presented by the bottles of middle schoolers and students, serving the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and hatred of others. The trophies of the awarded projects were presented on Wednesday February 14, 2024, during the ceremony at the Hôtel de Matignon by Gabriel Attal, Prime Minister in the presence of Nicole Belloubet, Minister of National Education and Youth, Sarah El Hairy , Minister Delegate for Children, Youth and Families; Emilie Freche, president of the jury; Olivier Klein, interministerial delegate to DILCRAH and the jury.
The finalists invited to the Hôtel de Matignon received their prize after a presentation of their projects, explaining their approach, the genesis of their action, its relevance and the effects it was able to produce.

OLIVIER KLEIN INTERMINISTERIAL DELEGATE FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST RACISM, ANTI SEMITISM & ANTI-LGBT HATRED (DILCRAH) OPENED THE CEREMONY

Olivier Klein, interministerial delegate for the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred (DILCRAH), delivered an opening keynote, as he introduced the ceremony, and laying out the program, and the context of how and when the scholars and students enrolled the competition for Ilan Halimi Prize, especially, this year as ut resonates even more, as regards the 7 October 2023 tragic attack, in Israel, led by terrorist group Hamas, killing more than 1,400 victims «
